Daegu Smart Wellness Regulatory Free Zone, which combines advanced science and technology in the medical field, will be implemented.

Daegu City announced that the Smart Wellness Zone in Daegu City was designated as a Regulatory Free Zone on the 24th of the Deliberation Committee and the Special Zone Committee, which was designated by the Ministry of Small and Medium Venture Business, and applied for 34 zones in 14 cities and provinces. Seven special zones in the city and province were selected, including Daegu for Smart Wellness, Busan for Blockchain, Sejong for Autonomous Vehicles, Gangwon-do Digital Healthcare, Jeonnam for E-Mobility, and Gyeongbuk for Next Generation Battery Business. Daegu Smart Wellness Regulatory Free Zone is located in 14,795,000㎡ of 4 areas including Daegu Gyeongbuk High-tech Medical Complex and 37 special zone operators including 14 special zone operators attracting offshore are building high-tech medical equipment joint manufacturing center and applying human-derived collagen. Four demonstration projects will be implemented, including the establishment of a commercialization platform for medical devices, the demonstration of smart clinical trials and management platforms, and the establishment of an IoT-based wellness information service platform.
